Pictures for 2002/07/31

Looking down the docks on the east-side, here's some of the sailboats. Wow, we're going to have fun getting out of that cabbage.
This is the same dock, just looking from a different angle. Not many people have arrived yet for today's race.
Yet another shot of the docks from yet another angle. Bet you weren't expecting that. :P
I liked this boat because of the deep blue hull. Oooo, take picture.
Here are some of the other boats that race with us. They are a little larger and in a different class.
On our way out of the harbour, you can see an old freighter in the background undergoing repairs after crashing into a lift bridge. Oops!
And one more look back to see the outside of the harbour. Nice scene actually. Looks like a pretty busy place today.
I had to put the camera away until well into the race. At this point, there was little for me to do, so here's some others catching up to us.
Today wasn't only a race against the clock. It was a race against the weather too. There's a storm moving in so everyone is hurrying back.
Well now, this picture turned out a lot better than I had expected. That storm is coming in fast. Hope we all make it without getting wet.
And we've made it back. There's some of the other sailors getting their gear together before docking. We all stayed dry tonight.
