To start off our tour of the computer room, here is my main workstation and file server. Workstation on the left, file server on the right. And hey, there's my Visor handheld computer too.

Panning to the left... A computer geek like me needs a test area. Whenever a system needs detailed testing, or setup, or just a good kick in the microprocessor, it winds up here in the workshop/test-area.

Looking a little more to the left, we put a little life into the technical room. There's my gerbil in his aquarium. Wow, normally this place isn't so organized. Ok, so I tidied up the place a bit.

If you're viewing this page (this year), then you're logged onto my file server - that's the computer on the right. And, if you play on my Quake server, or use my FTP, you're also logged into that server.

Here's a shot of my gerbil. I just got him today. I've kept gerbils since I was about 8 years old (I think). The last one began its eternal sleep about a month ago and so it was time to pick out another.

I think having a pet in the computer room gives this mechanized place a touch of life. Looks like he's adjusting to his new home pretty well so far. I keep him in a large aquarium so that he has lots of space.

Gerbils are great pets. For the most part, they're very low maintenance. They're quiet, fun to watch, and even get to know you after a while. But they are quite jittery and nervous much of the time.
